Summer is winding down. How did you do with your summer bucket list? There’s still time to pack a lot of summer into these last few weeks.
Enjoy some outdoor music. There’s the brass band playing on the steps of the Wellington County Museum tonight, the downtown concerts at noon on Fridays and a Free Arts and Culture Festival and Hip Hop concert at Riverside on the weekend.
Take in what the city offers. The Civic Museum and McCrae House host the annual teddy bear picnic today, there’s still lots of time to spend a lazy afternoon at the splash pad or wading pool, and now is the time for a few rounds on the carousel and train at Riverside Park.
Savour a bit of nature. If you didn’t get to cottage country this summer, you can always head to Rockwood and soak up the surroundings without the 3 hour drive. There are still many outdoor educational activities you can take part in through the GRCA and the Wednesday evening walks at the Arboretum are a wonderful way to immerse yourself in nature.
Taste it while you can. The farmstands in and around Guelph are bursting with beautiful local produce and if ever there was a summer to support our local farmers, this would be it. The Guelph Farmer’s Market is extending the Wednesday evenings until the fall. Or plan a trip to the St Jacob’s market for a different experience.
We’ve still got a few things on our list. A baseball game with friends, another trip to the beach, at least one more visit to the ice cream shop. What’s still on your list?
