Friday Fun – Free things to do with your family

by admin on July 6, 2012

Feeling like a little trip to Italy?  Head to the Festival Italiano and celebrate Guelph’s Italian culture.  Events include children’s bocce tournament, cheese rolling, greased pole climbing, spaghetti eating contests, lots of entertainment and a midway. You can find the full weekend schedule here.

On Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm Market Square at City Hall will host the International Day of Co-operatives Celebration. Family friendly events include children’s entertainment featuring MUSIC with Brian from 9-10 am and from 10:30-11:30 am enjoy The Skalywags, a local children’s musical troupe that has been featured at events such as Hillside Festival.  There is also free face painting for children from 10AM to 1PM.
Come learn all about how Co-operatives can change the world by example! Local Co-operative businesses and credit unions will be there to answer your questions, and even provide complimentary products!

On Sunday beat the heat with a free swim at Lyon Pool from 5-8, or enjoy a picnic while listening to the Guelph Concert Band performing at the Riverside Park Bandshell at 7 pm. Donations appreciated.

For a full listing of weekend events and activities, check out our weekly round up.

Have a great weekend! Stay cool.
